Frequently asked questions
Where will I find this?
The Dog and Boot Wash units will be anywhere that you need to clean off after getting muddy. We aim to establish ourselves in heritage sites like stately homes, coastal paths, mountain bike tracks, forests, woodland and national parks.
Who will use these units?
Anyone who needs to clean up before heading home, whether that is by car, by train or on foot. The Dog and Boot wash is for anyone who doesn't want to bring the mud back with them. The Dog and Boot Wash will mostly be used by local dog owners, occasional weekend visitors, bikers, hikers with muddy boots, parents who need to clean the pram wheels and surfers galore.
Why does it need to be a warm water rinse?
On cold days it will make a big difference to the dogs to have a warm shower rather than a freezing hose and the quality of the rinse will be much better if the dog is not stressed and reluctant because of the water temperature. Surfers wanting to rinse off a wetsuit will prefer it to be warm too!
Will there be a cold water option too?
Yes - we want our showers to help dogs cool down on very hot days too and obviously your mountain bike and hiking boots don't mind what temperature the water is.
How much is it likely to cost?
Pricing models may vary but we aim for around the £2-3 mark to make it affordable for everyone being less than a cup of coffee.
Will the wash include any sort of shampoo or detergent?
No. We intend to use 100% pure water either from a mains or grey water supply. The Dog and Boot Wash does not want to release any harmful chemicals into our green spaces and by using only water it allows for potential grey water capture by the host site if they choose providing a 'free' source of water. It also means our furry friends will avoid reactions to unfamiliar shampoos.
Do you have any market research to support your concept?
Yes - have a look at our consumer insight page on the website and if you would like further information about target consumers and financial modelling please get in touch.
Is it a good idea to rinse off dogs?
Yes - dogs are at risk of additional health issues if mud and dirt is not removed from their fur. Rinsing avoids these potential hazards.
Will it be safe?
Yes - the Dog and Boot Wash will comply with all UK regulation and the non-slip mat is in place to avoid slippages and trip hazards.
Are you open to investment?
Yes - if you are an investor please get in touch to find out how you can get involved.
Who is going to be designing these units?
We have been working with Realise Design an award winning UK product design agency based in Bristol where the team focus on designing positive products.
Could I see some more information about how profitable this could be?
Yes - just drop us a line and we will send you some additional information for potential investors.
You haven't answered my question - how can I find out more?
